Hello!
As you guys may know from a couple of posts ago, I am currently volunteering at this psychology lab at my school. There is a chance that I may continue with this volunteering position throughout the year, since my lab manager brought up that offer to me. I am trying to get a work study position, and I am kind of waiting back on my lab manager's reply on if there are any work study options available at this lab (HOPEFULLY). I highly doubt it sadly because she never really replied back on the matter Q_Q. Working at this lab would be so nice. I also felt that it would be nice to get paid for my position, since one of my other lab members is actually a work-study student as well. We're basically doing the same position but one actually gets paid Q_Q!! I still never heard back from any of the other labs that I have applied for through work study. I highly doubt I'd get an interview anyways Q_Q...
Anyways! So lately, my lab has been pretty dry because it is summer and there is a two week break from school at the moment. Also, the grad students are on their way of developing new studies, so we're just finalizing some of the results etc. This means that most of the time, there is not much to do in the lab.
When I came on my Thursday shift, I saw that one of my lab members was working on this 500 piece newspaper jigsaw puzzle. It definitely intrigued me because I am a huge jigsaw puzzle fan myself, and I have been doing them since I was a young child. I always found it relaxing to do. I do feel a bit awkward talking to those particular lab members since I'm not close to them, so I just did my own stuff for the first hour, until they left to do something else. In the end, I was drawn to complete the puzzle Q_Q. I spent about 2 hours + working on it, and I even stayed a bit overtime (30 mins past) to work on it. I didn't really notice the time fly by honestly. Here was what the state of the puzzle was when I first started, and the progression to when I last left it:

It kind of sucks that I won't be able to experience the feeling of actually completing it since it's not my puzzle, and my other lab member wanted to finish it instead. I hope to see the final piece eventually though.
Anyways, seeing this and actually doing it kind of reignited my passion to actually do puzzles again. So guess what I did the moment I got home? I took out my puzzle that I left unfinished from last summer (I had it in the living room for so long) and started working on it, with the actual goal of finishing it instead of abandoning it again.
So yeah, that was my update. I am already done with the puzzle that I started when I got home, so now I am on my second puzzle that I have. Both are 500 pieces!! I shall be making separate posts for them because I want to kind of honor the puzzles with their own posts, and place it as a nice memory for me through this blog.
Until then!!
